Howe Furniture
Founded in 1920, Howe earned critical acclaim when its newly designed
foldable table was installed at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York. These
were the first 2,100 banquet tables installed in a hotel in the U.S. The Company
followed this accomplishment by designing folding products for specific needs
such as banquet tables for World War II PT boats and submarines, and training
tables with modesty panels for IBM in the 1970s as they started providing co-ed
training for their workforce. In the 1980s, the brand became more design
oriented as the Company embarked on a relationship with world-renowned product
designer Neils Diffrient. Diffrient, Tempest, Tudor and Storm are among the most
highly specified products in the corporate training industry.
Howe also operates a European division based in Middlefart, Denmark. Similar
to the U.S Company, Howe Europe actively competes for corporate, education and
healthcare projects.
2005 marked another milestone as Howe launched its award winning More
collection. More is the Company's first matched table and chair collection. Both
products are set on casters so the furniture may be moved and stored without
lifting a piece off the ground.
Today, Howe is a brand within the CFGroup family, which is a closely held
private company.
